Week of June 5, 2006

Laura’s medication is in a small “holding” pattern. It is a slow and difficult process to determine the proper amounts and appropriate combinations, all while evaluating Laura’s tolerance levels in terms of side effects. No real changes this week in her condition or with therapy. Many of you have commented lately on her improved physical appearance. We thank you for the continued support and encouragement.

There will be new pictures and video footage of Laura posted soon to her website. Sorry it has been quite some time since we made Laura more visibly available. Also, thank you for the increased interest in the L6 5K Run/Walk presented by Emerson Process Management. Look for more 5K details later in the week as we approach the one-month out date.

Aside from Jesus himself, arguably no biblical character endured more hardship throughout their lifetime than Job. Job appeared to have everything; health, wealth, power, family (abundance in all things temporal). Satan believed Job only loved the Lord as a result of his vast possessions. He challenged God to eliminate Job’s blessings and determine if his loyalty, love, and faith were pure. Understandably, Job struggled mightily. He often question God, all the while building a closer and deeper relationship. In the end, Job was truly blessed, for his eyes were opened to the problem of material riches; TEMPORARY happiness. To find eternally lasting meaning, God slowly taught Job the importance of seeking wisdom and understanding; for they can never be taken!

AND THIS IS WHAT HE SAYS TO ALL HUMANITY: THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS TRUE WISDOM; TO FORSAKE EVIL IS REAL UNDERSTANDING. (Job 28:28)

We love you,
Jeff and Laura Laughlin

* An acclaimed doctor told me over the phone that Laura’s website was one of the best in the world at documenting a patient in her condition. That is all God there (with major help from Tanner, thanks!)
