Week of June 12, 2006

Laura is holding steady as we passed through the 11-month mark. No major problems or significant developments to report. Check out the newest videos and pictures of Laura recently posted to her website. The plan is to provide more consistent visual resources for all of Laura’s friends and family to view. We realize the difficulty in finding time and the lack of availability in her daily schedule. Seeing Laura is important for many people and we are committed to provide this option.

Many of you have inquired about the details of Laura’s living arrangement. She lives permanently at St. John’s Skilled Nursing Facility. We do exercise the option to take Laura home for several days per month, primarily for holidays and on weekends. We hope these visits are, at the least, a needed change of pace for Laura. Best case scenario, these trips could trigger or stimulate a long awaited breakthrough in Laura’s condition. At this point, she is always returned to the facility to sleep. In the near future, we may try to increase the frequency of these visits.

Where are we headed with this situation, with Laura, the website, the future, etc? If I told you that I knew all the answers, I would be an outright liar. Transforming Laura’s tragedy into a positive and fulfilling her dream is going to require time, hard work, and countless tough decisions. Regardless of these issues, it will eventually be reality. We may not completely understand how or when, but we will continue to seek direction and guidance from our Lord.

THE LORD DIRECTS OUR STEPS, SO WHY TRY TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING ALONG THE WAY?

We love you,
Jeff and Laura Laughlin
